Police vow to be neutral, deal with any officer conniving with politician

The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Mudashiru Abdullahi, on Thursday vowed that the force under his stewardship will not take side with any political party or candidate in the local government election on Saturday, 25 September, 2021.

Recall that the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM) had postponed local government elections in four local government areas (Chikun, Zagon Kataf, Kajuru, Kauru) of the state from September 4 to September 25, 2021 for security reasons.

Abdullahi stated that the command will continue to display a high level of professionalism and neutrality just as it has shown during the September 4th, 2021 elections conducted in 19 LGAs across the state.

Addressing members of Concerned Citizens from Zangon-Kataf LGA who visited him at the Police Headquarters in Kaduna on Thursday ahead of the election, he said it is important to abide by the rules and laws of the country.

He vowed to deal with anyone or group of individuals who go against the law of the land.

He also assured the group that he will not take it lightly with any police officer that undermined the credibility of his agency.

Abdullahi also called on the people to give the police the necessary support to carry out their duty of protecting lives and properties and assured the group of a sustainable police-community partnership to strengthen police presence in the local government.
