What’s next for the former super middleweight champion Caleb Plant?

Having lost his IBF super middleweight title, Caleb Plant wants to return to action. “Sweathands” his eyes are on WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo.

Plant, who seems very confident, has decided to call Charlo on television. The two have been fighting a verbal battle on Twitter recently, and Plant decided not to hit the bush if he wanted to achieve his goals.

“You were not directly @FutureOfBoxing so I’ll be ahead. We can identify them by the end of the year. UR EZ WORK.”

Plant made his debut in 2014. He beat Jose Uzcategui in 2019 to become an IBF super middleweight champion and defended the title three times. It was all against coercion, and Plant wanted to prove he could fight the elite. He will face Canelo Alvarez in November, losing through TKO. As a result of the Plant Loss, Canelo became an undisputed super middleweight champion in just 11 months.

Charlo made his first public appearance in 2008. Former IBF junior middleweight champion Charlo won the WBC middleweight title in 2018. After being promoted to full-time champion, he defended his belt five times. His last fight was in June, against Juan Macias Montiel through a series of matching matches.

Another option for the Plant could be David Benavidez, a former WBC super middleweight champion. Benavidez and Plant have been calling each other for years, even trying to keep the matches together. A 25-year-old boy, who was stripped of his high-profile position due to drug suspension and weight gain, fought for the last time in November, beating Kyrone Davis via TKO.

There are other names who want to fight Charlo. Demetrius Andrade, a WBO middleweight champion, has asked to meet Charlo for a while. Canelo also wants to fight Charlo, but he is also interested in competing in cruiserweight and light heavyweight titles.

Both Plant and Charlo have signed with Premier Boxing Champions.
