Three down – Seven to go.
RINO Rep. John Katko (R-NY) announced Friday that he will not run for re-election.
Kaytko was one of ten Republicans who voted to oust President Trump on charges related to the January 6 protests.
Katko follows Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Anthony Gonzalez from Ohio to resign after their 2021 opposition vote.
Rep. New York’s John Katko, one of the 10 House Republicans who voted to oust Donald Trump, announced Friday he would not run for re-election.
In a statement, Katko said he wanted to be with his family as a result of his decision.
“That is why, after 32 years in the government, I have decided not to run for office in Congress, to enjoy my family and my life to the fullest and present,” Katko said.
Katko is the third GOP impeachment backback to call it quits, following in the footsteps of Reps Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Anthony Gonzalez of Ohio. Rep. Fred Upton of Michigan has not announced his plans for the re-election.
