Steven Gerrard is heading to Old Trafford for the first time as a manager, taking his Aston Villa team to face Manchester United in the FA Cup 3rd Round.
Elsewhere with Gerrard, Ralf Rangnick is being forced for the first time as United’s longest-serving coach, having lost at home to the Wolves for the last time in the Premier League.
Villa are also looking to respond after losing a series of league losses to Brentford and Chelsea since Christmas.
Waiting for the winner tonight with a good home game against Middlesbrough in early February, United are looking for a way to the FA Cup No.13 tie with Villa until the eighth.
Sporting News will be following the game live and providing you with the latest updates and pre-game, during and after the game.
Man United vs. Aston Villa recent updates
(Always East, the main ones are only available in the US)
14:22 pm: Dean Henderson was another man who is expected to start for the Red Devils, but according to AMUNA, was abandoned when he wanted to rent out the January window.
14:18 pm: Rangnick also says Jadon Sancho “should be a midfielder,” but the hamstring problem has kept the English winner from arguing.
14:12 pm: Ronaldo’s absence is due to minor injuries, instead of resting or dropping number 7:
Rangnick on Ronaldo: “I spoke to Cristiano yesterday before the class and he said he had had a few days ago, minor back problems, and in the end we thought it would make sense not to do anything dangerous in the cup. A game that lasts 120 minutes.” #mufc

14:00 pm: How did Rangnick do his part? The German could beat Fernandes 4-2-3-1, or continue to make 4-2-2-2. Even with these, there will be questions as to whether Marcus Rashford or Mason Greenwood is alongside Edinson Cavani above.
13:57 pm: And here’s Villa’s strong XI, as expected:
13:56 pm: The entire United team is here:
13:55 pm: Ronaldo missed! The Portuguese winner was not even mentioned on the bench, with teammate Bruno Fernandes returning to the starting XI as captain.
13:42 pm: One person who is not on the court tonight is Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian, however, has today completed his medical treatment at Villa and is set to make his debut next week.
13:40 pm: We have 15 minutes left to get the team’s authentic news. Will Cristiano Ronaldo rest another league match with Villa on Saturday?
13:34 pm: United are looking to end a five-year drought, with their last fixture being the 2016/17 UEFA Europa League under Jose Mourinho. The recent FA Cup victory for the Red Devils came last season, under Louis van Gaal.
13:29 pm: Gerrard, who has won the FA Cup twice as a Liverpool player, spoke about the FA Cup appeal at his pre-match press conference: “It’s a real tradition, and a special competition for everyone in English and Britain because we know it well. they come to this country, when you hang out with them, the FA Cup tournament is always coming in. Therefore, it also has a name all over the world.
13:22 pm: The last time these clubs met at Old Trafford, Villa came up with three points in the Premier League. Bruno Fernandes fired a late penalty in a 1-0 defeat in September.
13:11 pm: Rangnick has asked Man United to play “another level of strength” with the team’s performance against Wolves. He has also been selected in midfield as Aston Villa’s mainstay.
13:02 pm: Gerrard’s last appearance as a player against Man United was probably the most painful – a well-known red card at Anfield, just 38 seconds later.
12:55 pm: Welcome to Sporting News for Man United vs. Aston Villa. As was the case last season, there is no recurrence in the FA Cup 3rd Round – why the tie should be considered tonight, with extra time and penalties if necessary.
