“One of the reasons I got involved in this project was running the kitchen and running the house because my father died after I was born. My mother was a single parent, not like you know. . . he. . . he was illiterate. So, you know, it was very difficult for her to take care of the family because being a woman, being a single parent, you have to deal with a lot of research or struggle with a lot of public opinion. . . those words, those comments, and there was so much he had to deal with. We were also in dire financial straits. So I know I’m just getting started, which is why I feel so important because life happened to me so quickly, ”said playwright Antim Mahima Makwana in the living room at Mehboob Studios in recall of his youth.
Mahima Makwana recently made his first Bollywood debut with Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma Antim actor. But this isn’t Mahima’s first time on the rodeo – he’s been working for years now, since he was nine or ten years old. He made his first appearance on the TV show at Mohe Rang De and appeared in shows like CID, Aahat, Miley Jab Hum Tum, Jhansi Ki Rani and Balika Vadhu.
“As television actors, we have become accustomed to working in extremely difficult situations. There are a lot of deliveries you have to make, you don’t have time to prepare as a player, things get complicated, things get complicated because nothing is needed for delivery. You know, my grandfather also died when I was filming a TV show and I was not allowed to leave. But that is the first reason, you know, to take on the role of being the protagonist in itself and in the job. So, I think, yeah, I mean, TV, you know, you’re used to sitting on your toes, you don’t have time to get ready. And at the same time, I feel that TV has given me a lot of confidence, it has given me a lot that I think will help my journey. And I think I have my own job on TV because TV has made me who I am. TV has given me fame, success, money, ”he says.
Although Mahima is aware that Salman Khan’s film is about him, he was also attracted to his character in Antim because he was “not a chair” but a man who talked a lot. “Right now, as Mahesh (Manjrekar) points out, there is no way it works because we are in a time where you want good things and because what they are – the audience has changed, they can, you know, change. One way click, so you have to write well. And it was a beautiful creation to be a part of it because there is a girl who speaks for herself, who stands up, and she was the only girl in the world of men, “says Mahima.
Mahima may have started playing in Bollywood but life was not always easy. As a result, he feels that Salman Khan and Mahesh Manjrekar must have seen the difficulties he encountered settling in his face. “Salman (Khan) boss and Mahesh (Manjrekar) experienced their own experiences, not only experts, but also personal experiences. So, they look at you and can see the ups and downs that a person has had. “We have a girl coming from outside the group. We want to help her,” she said.
And what did you learn from Salman Khan?
“I think what I have learned from him is quite consistent. You know, we’ve been seeing him entertain us all for about 30 and a half years. And there is something about him that I do not know if I can put it in words but just sit. . . he too has experienced it, his things have come to the fore but that is how you are a good fighter and he fights for everything that came his way. That is why being consistent and strong enough to deal with anything, ”he says.
