SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Tesla (NASDAQ 🙂 Inc intends to launch the first Cybertruck launch at the end of the first quarter of 2023, reversing its plans to start production by the end of this year, a leading expert on the subject. told Reuters Thursday.

The man said the delay comes as Tesla changes the shape and functions of the electric camera to create a compelling object as the competition burns in the segment.

Tesla is expected to make Cybertruck a bit earlier in the first quarter of 2023 before the rise, a source said.

Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Tesla, the world’s largest manufacturer of electric cars, manufactures electric sedans and sports cars but has missed out on the car industry, which is the most profitable and well-known brand in America.

Ford Motor (NYSE 🙂 Co and Rivian Automotive are at the forefront of Tesla in launching electric pickups.

Ford says that earlier this month it will make nearly twice a year with its F-150 Lightning fire engine until 150,000 cars by the spring of U.S. sales.

Ford market price broke $ 100 billion for the first time on Thursday when Tesla shares fell 6.7% and Rivian fell 7.1%.

CEO Elon Musk, who unveiled the future car in 2019, had already delayed its production from late 2021 to the end of 2022.

Musk has said it will provide a modified street map on January 26 Tesla.

Tesla recently withdrew the wording of its production list from its Cybertruck order page. Last month, the page said, “You will be able to complete your transition as production approaches 2022.” Now “in 2022” has not been abandoned.

Tesla is planning to build Cybertruck at its Texas factory, which is expected to start making Model Y cars earlier this year.
